Full instructions: How to return calls via Telegram in Russia using ByeByeDPI on Android

Read the instructions for returning calls via Telegram in Russia, 5 minutes and installing ByeByeDPI are enough to make everything work again!

• Since August 2025, Roskomnadzor has been blocking VoIP traffic (UDP packets of calls) from Telegram and WhatsApp.
  
• ByeByeDPI bypasses DPI (Deep Packet inspection) locally — without VPN, without transferring data to servers.
  
• Both sides of the call must start ByeByeDPI with "UDP Desynchronization" enabled — otherwise the call will either not connect, or
• there will be a "metallic" voice/noise.
  
• It runs on Android 5.0+. iOS — only VPN or Force TCP in Telegram (see below).

1. Download the following link ByeByeDPI:
   

   Download the latest version of ByeByeDPI-vX.X.X.apk (for 2026 — v1.7.2).

   
   
2. Install the APK:
   

   Allow installation from unknown sources (Settings → Security).

   
   

   Open the file → Install.

• Open ByeByeDPI.
  
• Grant all permissions (VPN, notifications, autorun).
  
• Click "Select commands" (the button at the bottom).
  
• The program will test 30-50 combinations and show a success rate.
  
• Select the row with the maximum% (usually 90-100%) → "Apply".

• Go to Settings (gear).
  
• Turn on the "UDP desynchronization" checkbox.
  
• This "breaks" UDP packets of calls so that DPI does not see them.
  
• (Optional) Enable "Run on boot" and "Whitelist" → add Telegram to avoid wasting battery on all traffic.

• Click the big "Run" button.
  
• A notification "ByeByeDPI is active" will appear in the curtain.
  
• Open Telegram → call a friend.
  
• Ask a friend to do exactly the same STEPS 1-4.

The call connects in 2-3 seconds, the voice is clear, the delay is 100-200 ms.

The video works too.

1. Re-select the commands (the "Refresh" button).
   
2. Try a manual line (paste it into the "Command Prompt"):
   

   -s1 -q1 -Y -Ar -s5 -o1+s -At -f-1 -r1+s -As

   
   
3. Restart your phone and restart it.
   
4. Make sure that the other person also has UDP desynchronization enabled.

If you don't want the app:

1. In Telegram → Settings → Hold your finger on "Telegram for Android...".
   
2. Debugging → "Call Settings" → "Force TCP" = ON opens.
   
3. Both subscribers are on.
   
4. Minus: the voice is slightly "metallic", the delay is higher.

• ByeByeDPI does not encrypt traffic or hide IP addresses.
  
• For complete privacy, add any VPN on top (but calls are already working).
