Boisvert Analog Horror Game

Boisvert Analog Horror Game is a psychological horror game based on the surreal web series of the same name. The player finds himself trapped in an abandoned house for five nights, where the main task is to survive under the supervision of an entity named Room. The project conveys the atmosphere of old VHS recordings with grainy images, immersing in a world in which isolation turns into a real danger.

The plot

The story takes place in the universe of _boisvert and is an allegory of internal states — depression, anxiety and hidden "complexes". The player is in a house where reality is gradually distorted, and the shadows begin to behave like they are alive. As you progress, mysterious characters such as Uriel, Dogtooth, and the Room itself appear. The narrative blurs the line between fear and personal feelings, forcing not only to feel anxiety, but also to think about the inner state.

Gameplay

The project combines elements of a psychological thriller and survival horror, resembling mechanics similar to Five Nights at Freddy's.

The player will have to survive five nights, each of which becomes more difficult and introduces new threats. An interface in the style of an old computer and a camera with interference is used to monitor the house. It is important to monitor the noises and keep the Room at a distance, while at the same time understanding the encrypted messages.

The house itself acts as one big puzzle. The player solves abstract tasks, interacts with the environment and tries not to let the "Complex" completely consume him. Mindfulness, resource management, and strategic thinking play a key role.

Graphics and sound

The visual style is made in the spirit of analog horror: grainy images, distortions, glitch effects and a muted color palette create the feeling of watching an old recording. The sound design includes distorted whispers, low-frequency noises, and sudden noise that increases tension. Every change in sound or image can be a danger signal.
